Daisy Jazz Isobel Ridley was born 10 April 1992 in England. Between 2015 and 2019 she played Rey across the Star Wars sequel trilogy, a role that redefined her career overnight. She moved into ensemble work with Murder on the Orient Express in 2017, then took the title role in Ophelia in 2018 - a romantic drama that flipped the Hamlet story. Voice work followed: Peter Rabbit in 2018, the video game Twelve Minutes in 2021. She led the science-fiction film Chaos Walking in 2021, the independent drama Sometimes I Think About Dying in 2023, and the psychological thriller The Marsh King's Daughter the same year. In 2024 she played Gertrude Ederle, the first woman to swim the English Channel, in Young Woman and the Sea.
