One of the sons Muhammad and Khadija
A son of Muhammad who died in childhood, remembered in Islamic tradition by names that mean "the pure" and "the good."
Abdullah ibn Muhammad was born to Muhammad and Khadija, his mother's wealth and support helping sustain the early Muslim community in Mecca. Known also as al-Tahir and al-Tayyib, he did not survive to see his father's ministry unfold. His death came while still a child, one of several losses that marked Muhammad and Khadija's household before the faith they shaped reached beyond Arabia.
