Born in Leningrad in 1974, Chichvarkin founded Euroset and rode the post-Soviet mobile boom to a $1.6 billion fortune by his early thirties. Between 2004 and 2007 the Russian state showered him with awards - Person of the Year, Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year, the Order of Saint Alexander Nevsky, the Order of Glory of Russia - as he climbed into the Right Cause political party and eyed leadership of its Moscow branch. Then he left. From London he now campaigns against the corruption and the president who once pinned medals on men like him, and in 2012 he opened Hedonism Wines on Davies Street in Mayfair - a different kind of empire, a long way from home.
