Alisher Usmanov is read about 1,523 times a day, in 40 languages.
A typical day, 30 days to 15 October 2026
The middle day of the days counted, so one week of news cannot move it. The line under it is the last 390 days, one point a day.
Something wrong?A metals-and-tech fortune built in post-Soviet Russia, a six-year prison stint later overturned, and sanctions that followed the 2022 invasion - Usmanov's billion-dollar profile carries the full weight of proximity to power.

About this person
Born in 1953, Alisher Usmanov ran businesses in the Soviet Union through the 1980s, though from 1980 to 1986 he spent six years in prison on fraud and embezzlement charges. The conviction was later overturned, and in 2000 Uzbekistan's Supreme Court ruled the case fabricated. After the USSR's collapse, he amassed wealth through metal and mining investments - anchored by his stake in Metalloinvest and the Udokan copper mine - and early bets on Facebook, Twitter, VK, and Alibaba. He acquired Kommersant publishing and co-owns MegaFon, the mobile operator. Since 2008 he has led the Fédération Internationale d'Escrime, fencing's global body, though he suspended those duties in 2022 and again in 2024. Described as close to Vladimir Putin, a characterization he denies, Usmanov was sanctioned by the US, EU, UK, and Ukraine following the invasion. Forbes now places him 222nd in the world, worth $14.1 billion.
