Born in October 1990, Siegmund entered the Landtag of Saxony-Anhalt in 2016 as an AfD member and rose to co-lead the party's parliamentary group there by 2022. Four years later, as the AfD's lead candidate in the 2026 Saxony-Anhalt state election, he steered the campaign to a historic win - the party's best performance in any German state - by doubling its vote share and claiming a result that redrew the map. The victory handed him a mandate no AfD figure had yet held at the state level.
