Toni Watson went professional as Tones and I and released "Dance Monkey" in 2019. The single hit number one in over 30 countries and was certified 19× platinum in Australia by 2023. That same year she swept the ARIA Music Awards, taking four wins from eight nominations, and dropped her debut EP The Kids Are Coming, which cracked the top three at home and top 10 abroad. Her first full-length, Welcome to the Madhouse, arrived in July 2021 and opened at number one on the ARIA Albums Chart. Lead single "Fly Away" climbed into the top five in Australia and the top 15 across the UK, Ireland, and Denmark. Three years later, "Dance Monkey" crossed 3 billion streams on Spotify - a first for any woman as a solo artist.
