Tanit Phoenix was born on 24 September 1980 in South Africa. She built her early career as a fashion model specializing in swimwear and lingerie, landing in Sports Illustrated's Swimsuit Issue in 2003. That same year she appeared in both GQ and FHM, riding a wave of visibility that opened doors beyond the runway. She moved into acting and later trained as a makeup artist, diversifying her work behind the lens as much as in front of it. She has since left modeling behind.
