Puri Jagannadh is read about 806 times a day, in 16 languages.
A typical day, 30 days to 15 October 2026
The middle day of the days counted, so one week of news cannot move it. The line under it is the last 390 days, one point a day.
Something wrong?Puri Jagannadh turned a 2006 Telugu cop thriller into a template remade across half a dozen Indian languages, making Pokiri the kind of regional hit that rewrites Bollywood's attention map.

About this person
Born in September 1966, Puri Jagannadh broke through in 2000 directing Badri with Pawan Kalyan, then spent the next few years building a reputation in Telugu cinema with films like Itlu Sravani Subramanyam and Idiot. The 2006 release of Pokiri at the IIFA Film Festival in Dubai changed the scope: the film's success triggered remakes in multiple Indian languages and established him beyond regional boundaries. He crossed into Hindi in 2004 with Shart: The Challenge, then returned in 2011 with Bbuddah... Hoga Terra Baap starring Amitabh Bachchan, a film later archived in the Oscar library. He now produces through Puri Jagannadh Touring Talkies, Vaishno Academy, and Puri Connects alongside actress Charmme Kaur, and runs the music label Puri Sangeet. The commercial hits keep coming: Desamuduru, Businessman, Temper, iSmart Shankar, a catalog that reads like a two-decade syllabus in mass-market Telugu filmmaking.
