Nicole Zefanya was born January 24, 1999, and began writing songs that would eventually pull her from Indonesia to a US record deal with 88rising. Her debut album Moonchild arrived in 2020 and made NME's year-end list for best Asian releases; that same year Forbes named her to their 30 Under 30 Asia. The breakout came with "Every Summertime", recorded for the Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings soundtrack - it went gold after moving half a million copies and opened the door wider. Nicole (2022) and Buzz (2024) both charted in the US and UK, while tracks like "Lowkey", "High School in Jakarta", and "Take A Chance With Me" cracked top 40 across multiple Asian markets.
