Born Sri Rossa Roslaina Handiyani on 9 October 1978, she began releasing albums in the late 1990s and by 1999 was distributed across Southeast Asia and Japan. Her 2011 compilation The Best of Rossa sits third on Indonesia's all-time sales chart with more than 5 million copies moved. Love, Life & Music followed in 2014 and broke the single-day record. A New Chapter in 2017 pushed her reach further, and two years later she became the first Indonesian and Southeast Asian artist signed to SM Entertainment. The first volume of her trilogy, Another Journey: The Beginning, went multi-platinum in 2023 with over 500,000 sold, and her catalogue has supplied theme songs for more than 170 films and television series.
