About

Brian Hugh Warner formed Marilyn Manson in 1989, naming the band and its members by fusing American female sex symbols with male serial killers. The group's mid-'90s trilogy—Portrait of an American Family, Antichrist Superstar, Mechanical Animals—delivered platinum sales and singles like "The Beautiful People" and "The Dope Show," but also congressional hearings and state legislation aimed at keeping them off public stages.
