Malcolm John Taylor was born 13 June 1943 in England and first broke through as Mick Travis in Lindsay Anderson's If.... (1968), a schoolboy insurgent he'd play twice more across a decade. That turn caught Kubrick's eye, leading to the role that remade him: Alex in A Clockwork Orange (1971), a droog whose ultraviolence and charm became one of film's indelible masks. The decades after scattered him across genre and tone - the decadent Caligula (1979), H.G. Wells chasing Jack the Ripper in Time After Time, the doomed starship captain who killed Kirk in Star Trek Generations (1994), Dr. Loomis in Rob Zombie's Halloween reboot. Television gave him recurring lives on Entourage, Heroes, and Mozart in the Jungle; voice work made him a digital emperor in Fallout 3 and a Daedric prince in Elder Scrolls Online. He received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2012, decades after the eyelash first blinked.
