"Royals" moved 10 million units and made her debut album Pure Heroine a 2013 event; a year later she was curating The Hunger Games soundtrack and landing on Forbes and Time lists as a teenage phenomenon. Melodrama, her 2017 collaboration with Jack Antonoff, debuted atop the Billboard 200 and later earned a place in Rolling Stone's 500 greatest albums - a tighter, more vulnerable record that cemented her as a songwriter with range. Solar Power in 2021 chased indie folk and psychedelic textures and split opinion; Virgin in 2025, made with Jim-E Stack, returned to electronic pop and won the critics back. Two Grammys, 20 Aotearoa Music Awards, co-writes for Broods and Bleachers - and still only in her twenties.
