Kristian Blummenfelt, born 14 February 1994, races triathlons at every distance the sport offers - sprint, standard, 70.3, full Ironman. He took Olympic gold in Tokyo at the 2020 Games, then won the 2021 Ironman World Championship when it moved to Saint George, Utah in May 2022. A month later, on 5 June 2022, he became the first person to finish an Ironman-distance race in under seven hours, clocking 6:44:25 at the Pho3nix Sub-7 Sub-8 event on the Lausitzring track. In late January 2026 he posted a V̇O2 max of 101.1 mL/(kg·min) - the highest ever tested. The physiology and the results now sit in the same column.
