Imran Khan was born in the Netherlands on 28 May 1984 and began making Punjabi-language hip hop and pop in a scene that had little infrastructure. His first single, "Ni Nachleh", dropped in 2007 and caught enough attention that Prestige Records signed him by year's end. Two years later he released "Amplifier", which became a slow-burn hit and eventually crossed a billion views, then put out his debut album Unforgettable in July 2009 with tracks like "Bewafa". The real seismic moment came in 2013 with "Satisfya" - a song that now sits above a billion views and remains his most-watched work. He built a catalog that travels without translation, carried by hooks and a diaspora that found its sound in his beats.
