Summary
Updated 2026-06-10

His animals glow in colors the natural world never gave them — electric blues, impossible yellows — because Franz Marc painted what he believed animals felt, not what humans saw. That belief made him a pillar of German Expressionism and later, posthumously, a target of the Nazis.
