Diogo Piçarra was born on 19 October 1990. In 2012, he entered the fifth season of Ídolos, Portugal's answer to Pop Idol, and emerged as the winner. The crown did what those competitions promise but rarely deliver: it gave him a platform that stuck. What followed the confetti was a run of singles and albums that kept him in rotation beyond the nostalgia cycle of reality TV alumni.
