David Araújo Antunes was born 30 July 1991 and took the stage name David Carreira. His debut album N.1 hit number one in Portugal in 2011, then A força está em nós reached number two. He sings in Portuguese, English, and French, and built a following beyond Portugal with singles like "Obrigado la famille" and "Boom" landing in French markets. He also works as an actor and model. The multilingual approach turned a local career into a transatlantic one.
