Dave Rubin co-hosted LGBTQ-themed shows like The Ben and Dave Show (2007-2008) and The Six Pack (2009-2012) before launching The Rubin Report in 2013 under the progressive TYT Network. He has written that his views began shifting after watching debates involving Cenk Uygur, Ben Affleck, Bill Maher, and Sam Harris, and after responses to the Charlie Hebdo shooting. He left TYT in 2015 over ideological differences and described himself as a classical liberal, then in the 2020s as a conservative and libertarian.
