Byzantine Emperor in 641
He held the Byzantine throne for exactly three months in 641 — long enough to be counted among the emperors, brief enough that history barely caught his name.
Heraclius Constantine was born on 3 May 612, the eldest son of Emperor Heraclius and Fabia Eudokia. He inherited the empire in 641 after his father's death, becoming sole Byzantine emperor at a moment when the throne still carried the weight of Rome's eastern remnant. His reign lasted three months. He died on 25 May 641, leaving behind little more than a numeral and the memory of a crown that passed too quickly to leave a mark.
