Born in Italy in 1967, Bruni moved to France at seven and spent a decade as a fashion model starting in 1987. She shifted to songwriting around 2000, contributing tracks to Julien Clerc's album before releasing her own debut, Quelqu'un m'a dit, in 2003 - it held the French top 10 for 34 weeks and earned her the Victoire Award for Female Artist of the Year in 2004. Two more albums followed quickly, No Promises and Comme si de rien n'était, before she married Nicolas Sarkozy in 2008 and spent four years as first lady. After leaving the Élysée in 2012, she released Little French Songs in 2013 and French Touch in 2017, then walked the Victoria's Secret runway again in 2024.
