About

Ferguson scored goals for Scottish clubs in the 1960s, topping the league charts with Dunfermline in 1965–66, then shifted to the touchline. At Aberdeen he broke the Old Firm stranglehold, winning three league titles and lifting European silverware in 1983 with the Cup Winners' Cup. Manchester United hired him in November 1986; the first years were rocky, but by the 1990s he'd built around homegrown talent—the Class of '92—and collected 13 Premier League titles, five FA Cups, and two Champions League crowns, including the 1999 treble.
