David Beckham came up through Manchester United's academy and made his first-team debut at 17 in 1992, winning six Premier League titles and the 1999 Champions League before Real Madrid came calling. He captained England for six years across 58 of his 115 international caps, appearing at three World Cups. In 2007 he signed with LA Galaxy in what was billed as a watershed moment for American soccer, won two MLS Cups, and became the first British player to reach 100 Champions League appearances during loan spells at AC Milan.
