Yanina Mykhailivna Sokolova was born 6 March 1984 in Ukraine and moved through journalism into television, eventually hosting "Rendezvous" and "Cinema" on Channel 5 and the "Shame!" program on Channel 4. She expanded into YouTube with "Evening with Yanina Sokolova" and created "Ya, Nina", a multimedia project pulling from real events in her life.
