About this person
Victoria Ingrid Alice Désirée was born 14 July 1977, the eldest child of King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia. At birth she stood behind her younger brother in line - until 1980, when Sweden passed the first absolute primogeniture law in Western Europe and made her heir apparent. She carries the title Duchess of Västergötland. If she ascends, she will be Sweden's fourth queen regnant, following Margaret, Christina, and Ulrika Eleonora, and the first in over three centuries - the last reigned in 1720.
