Born in Switzerland on 19 March 1936, Andress was a model before landing the role that would define her career: Honey Ryder in Dr. No, the first James Bond film. That 1962 appearance made her an instant international sensation. She returned to the Bond universe five years later in the spy parody Casino Royale, playing Vesper Lynd.
