About this person
Tim Pool was born March 9, 1986. In 2011 he livestreamed the Occupy Wall Street protests, an early experiment in real-time citizen journalism that brought him sudden visibility. The attention led to positions at Vice Media and Fusion TV in 2014, where he worked in video and reporting. He eventually left traditional media for YouTube and other platforms, building an audience around political commentary that shifted steadily rightward. Today he runs a podcast empire, the live-wire independent operator now firmly planted on one side of the line he once claimed to straddle.
