Born on Christmas Day 1936, Alexandra arrived as the only daughter of Prince George, Duke of Kent, and Princess Marina of Greece and Denmark, sixth in line to the throne her uncle would soon occupy. Her bloodline wove tight — a niece to both Edward VIII and George VI, first cousin to Elizabeth II, tangled by marriage into double cousinhood with Charles III.
