Catholic pope and saint
A fourth-century bishop of Rome whose entire papacy lasted sixteen months before exile cut it short.
Eusebius became bishop of Rome on 18 April 309, stepping into leadership during a volatile period for the early Church. His tenure proved brief. Just sixteen months later, on 17 August 310, he was forced into exile. He died in exile two months after that, on 21 October 310, his papacy ending not by death in office but by expulsion.
