Biography
About
Goffredo da Castiglione was born sometime in the 1180s. By October 1241 he had risen through the Church to the point where cardinals chose him as pope, taking the name Celestine IV. He became head of the Catholic Church and ruler of the Papal States on October 25. He died on November 10, just over two weeks later, before a coronation could take place. The seat passed to another.
