Biography
About
Piero di Lorenzo de' Medici was born on 15 February 1472 into the ruling dynasty of Florence, taking power as lord of the city in 1492. Within two years he had squandered the Medici grip on Florence entirely, driven into exile in 1494. He spent the next nine years in that exile, dying on 28 December 1503. The nickname stuck: Piero the Fatuous, Piero the Unfortunate — a man defined by what he couldn't hold.
