About
Born Pedro de Alcântara Maria Fernando Miguel Rafael Gonzaga Xavier João António Leopoldo Vítor Francisco de Assis Júlio Amélio on 16 September 1837, he came to the throne in 1853 at fifteen. For the next eight years he wore the crown as Dom Pedro V, King of Portugal. On 11 November 1861, he died. He was twenty-four.
