About this person
Born in 2007, Cubarsí came through Girona's youth setup before joining La Masia, Barcelona's famed academy. He made his senior debut for the club on 18 January 2024, four days shy of his 17th birthday, and locked down a starting role almost immediately. Back-to-back La Liga titles followed in 2025 and 2026. Two months after his debut, he earned his first Spain cap in a friendly against Colombia at 17. By the time the 2026 World Cup arrived, he was indispensable: he started every match, never came off, and Spain lifted the trophy. The tournament named him its Best Young Player - a centre-back at 19, already carrying the weight of a nation's defence.
