Born Nikolaos Arvanitidis on 21 August 1976 in Gorinchem, Netherlands, to a family from Galipsos village near Kavala, he adopted the stage name Nikos Vertis and returned to Greece to pursue music. He released five studio albums, a CD single, and two special edition CD/DVD packages that documented his live draw. The combination of folk roots and polished production carried him from clubs to concert halls, cementing a career built on volume, stamina, and the kind of songs that survive long car rides.
