Maryanne Trump Barry was born April 5, 1937, the eldest of the Trump siblings. She became an assistant U.S. attorney in 1974, then a federal district judge in New Jersey under Ronald Reagan in 1983. Bill Clinton elevated her to the Third Circuit Court of Appeals in 1999. She testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee in 2006 backing Samuel Alito's Supreme Court nomination. In June 2011 she took senior status, semi-retiring but still hearing cases. When an investigation opened in early 2019 into allegations of judicial misconduct tied to fraudulent tax and financial transactions, she announced her retirement from the bench that February, ending the probe. She died November 13, 2023.
