Mendonça released a self-titled EP in 2015 that went nowhere. The turn came in 2016 with her first DVD: "Infiel" became one of Brazil's most-played songs, earned triple-diamond certification, and made her a national name. Her 2017 album Realidade drew a Latin Grammy nomination. In 2019 she released Todos os Cantos, a scripted project built from concerts she recorded in every Brazilian state capital - it went triple-platinum and won her first Latin Grammy. On 5 November 2021, her plane went down in Minas Gerais on the way to a show. The posthumous single "Leão" has been streamed 360 million times.
