About this person
Lina Maliha Khan was born March 3, 1989, and holds both British and American citizenship. While studying at Yale Law School, she published "Amazon's Antitrust Paradox" in 2017, an essay that put her on the map in antitrust circles. President Joe Biden nominated her to the FTC in March 2021, and after confirmation that June she took the chair - a record for age. She also teaches as an associate professor at Columbia Law School. After her FTC tenure ended in 2025, she co-chaired Zohran Mamdani's mayoral transition team and was appointed to lead the New York City Economic Development Corporation.
