About this person
Kevin George Knipfing started doing stand-up on Long Island in the late 1980s before landing the role that would define him: Doug Heffernan, the delivery driver at the center of The King of Queens, which ran from 1998 to 2007 and earned him an Emmy nomination in 2006. Film work arrived in 2004 with 50 First Dates, followed by a co-starring turn in Hitch the next year, and then a run of vehicles built around his affable, physical presence - I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry, Paul Blart: Mall Cop, Grown Ups, Zookeeper, Here Comes the Boom, Pixels. He voiced characters in Monster House, Barnyard, and Hotel Transylvania, returned to CBS with Kevin Can Wait from 2016 to 2018, and took occasional dramatic roles in The Dilemma, Little Boy, and Becky. In 2026 he starred in the romantic comedy Solo Mio.
