Born in Sweden, raised in Finland, Keijo Erik Rosberg climbed from karting through Formula Vee and Super Vee, winning the German Championship in 1975 before three years in Formula Two. He made his Formula One debut at 29 in 1978 with Theodore, bounced through backmarker teams, then landed at Williams in 1982. That year he won once — Switzerland — but five more podiums carried him to the title at the final race, making him Finland's first World Drivers' Champion.
