The middle day of the days counted, so one week of news cannot move it. The line under it is the last 390 days, one point a day.
Something wrong?José José turned a voice into a title - "El Príncipe de la Canción" - and held it for forty years. His tenor could fill Madison Square Garden or stop a Latin music festival cold, and it made him the measuring stick for every balladeer who came after.

Born José Rómulo Sosa Ortiz in 1948 to a family of musicians, he started young - guitar and serenade in his early teens, then bass in a jazz and bossa nova trio. A single performance changed the trajectory: singing "El Triste" at a festival in Mexico City in 1970, he demonstrated a tenor that climbed the Latin charts for the rest of the decade. The 1980s brought an Ariola Records deal and international reach - his 1983 album Secretos moved over four million units, Frank Sinatra tried to sign him, and his music crossed into Europe and Asia where Spanish wasn't spoken. He sold over 40 million albums, collected Grammy nominations, and took on film roles in pictures like Gavilán o Paloma. José José died on 28 September 2019, leaving a catalogue and a standard that defined Latin pop for a generation.
