Jonathan Irving Lunine is an American planetary scientist and physicist. He is Chief Scientist at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory and Professor of Planetary Science at the California Institute of Technology. Before joining JPL and Caltech in 2024, he was the David C. Duncan Professor in the Physical Sciences at Cornell University and chair of Cornell's Department of Astronomy.
