American soccer player (1901–1971)
James J. Gallagher was a soccer player who played as a midfielder and spent eleven seasons in the American Soccer League. Born in Scotland, he was a member of the United States national team at the 1930 FIFA World Cup and 1934 FIFA World Cup. Gallagher was inducted into the National Soccer Hall of Fame in 1986.
