About

Born in Taiwan in 1963, Huang moved to the U.S. as a child and studied electrical engineering before earning a master's from Stanford. In 1993, at thirty, he co-founded Nvidia in a Denny's in San Jose and steered it through near-collapse in the late nineties. The pivot to GPUs—originally for gaming—positioned the company decades later at the center of the AI boom. By October 2025, Nvidia had become the first firm to break $5 trillion in market cap. Forbes now pegs Huang's personal fortune above $200 billion, seventh worldwide, and Time named him an Architect of AI in 2025.
