About this person
Jennie Kim moved from South Korea to New Zealand at eight, came back in 2010 to audition for YG Entertainment, and six years later debuted in Blackpink. The group became one of the best-selling girl groups of all time, but in November 2018 she stepped out alone with "Solo", which topped charts in South Korea and the US and cracked a billion YouTube views. She founded Odd Atelier in 2023, signed with Columbia Records in 2024, and released Ruby in 2025 - it sold a million copies, tied the UK Albums Chart peak for a Korean solo artist, and sent "Mantra" and "Like Jennie" into the Billboard Global 200 top five. "Like Jennie" also became the highest-charting song by a Korean woman on the UK Singles Chart and hit number one in South Korea. In 2026 her Tame Impala remix gave her a first US Billboard Hot 100 top-ten entry, Time named her one of the 100 most influential people in the world, and Instagram confirmed her as the most-followed Korean on the platform.
