Jagadish Vasudev was born on 3 September 1957 and began teaching yoga in 1982. A decade later he founded the Isha Foundation, which grew into an ashram and yoga centre running educational and spiritual programs out of Coimbatore. His books — Inner Engineering: A Yogi's Guide to Joy and Karma: A Yogi's Guide to Crafting Your Destiny — both hit the New York Times bestseller list, and he became a regular at international forums.
