About this person
Francesco Bellissimo was born in Rome on 3 January 1979 and built a career that spanned celebrity cooking, acting, fashion influence, and martial arts - holding a 3rd dan black belt in Kyokushin karate. He moved to Japan and became a tarento, a foreign television personality, writing for cooking magazines and books while serving as president of the Italian Cooking Association in Japan from 2005 to 2026. Along the way he earned the title of sommelier dell'Olio and collected two Japanese nicknames that stuck. A 2026 survey placed him as the second most famous Italian in the country, trailing only Giorgio Armani.
