Florianus

Marcus Annius Florianus took power in 276 after his half-brother Tacitus was murdered. The succession was immediate but not secure. Probus, who controlled the Eastern provinces, refused to recognize him. The confrontation came quickly. Florianus marched to meet his rival, but before the armies could settle it, his own troops turned. They killed him 88 days after he'd taken the throne, and Probus ruled in his place.
