Edwin Jack Fisher was born August 10, 1928, and by the 1950s had become one of the decade's top-selling recording artists, moving millions of records and hosting The Eddie Fisher Show on television. He married Debbie Reynolds, and they had a daughter, Carrie Fisher, before the marriage collapsed when he left Reynolds for Elizabeth Taylor - a betrayal that turned him from golden boy to public villain overnight. He married Taylor, then later Connie Stevens, the pattern of high-profile unions trailing him long after the hit records stopped. He died September 22, 2010, a singer remembered less for the voice than for the wreckage.
