Deodatus Andreas Deddy Cahyadi Sunjoyo was born 28 December 1976. He broke into Indonesian television in 1998 with Impresario 008 on RCTI, trading publicity stunts with famous magicians and building a reputation sharp enough to earn the Merlin Award for "World's Best Mentalist" twice in a row. He carried the act into film, starring in The Mentalist in 2011, then wrote, directed, and starred in the action film Triangle The Dark Side in 2016. But somewhere along the way he resigned from the magician world and turned to a different kind of attention: a podcast called Close the Door, published on YouTube. By November 2021 his channel had cleared 16 million subscribers and 2.31 billion views, the parlor trick traded for the long conversation.
