David Heinemeier Hansson is a Danish programmer who created Ruby on Rails, a web framework written in Ruby that became foundational infrastructure for modern web development. He works as a partner and chief technology officer at 37signals, the web-based software development firm, and also created Omarchy, a dotfile collection for Arch Linux aimed at developers. Starting in 2005, he co-wrote a string of books with collaborators including Dave Thomas and Jason Fried: Agile Web Development with Rails, Getting Real, Rework, Remote: Office Not Required, and It Doesn't Have to Be Crazy at Work.
